Top interior design trends of 2023, according to home decor experts – New York Post | NutSocia

We’ll say it once and we’ll say it again: This is your sign to add pep and liveliness into your home if you want to renovate.

To get straight to the point, we reached out to a home decor expert about the top interior design trends forecast to be at the top for 2023.

“We’ve seen a big push toward organic modernism,” Nick Lewis, an interior design YouTuber with nearly 400,000 subscribers, told the New York Post as he summarized the trends for 2022. “The color palette has gotten warmer in recent years as we’ve seen a move away from cool grays and silvers towards beiges and browns.”

This, combined with organic shapes and natural materials, was a defining style of 2022.

Of course, just because something gained popularity this year doesn’t mean it will be forgotten by 2023. Interestingly, Lewis predicts that more homeowners will use bolder, more saturated colors in their interiors.

“The maximalist and grand millennial styles have gotten a lot of attention in recent years, but I think that for 2023 these styles will be more sophisticated, more mature and less conflicting,” he adds. “So we’re going to be seeing a lot more bold, saturated colors in the future.”

Which colors specifically? Green will continue to be popular, but Lewis also recommends looking for terracotta, rust, and other earth tones to pair with it.

“Dusty Rose is also making a ’90s comeback as a more sophisticated cousin to the millennial pink we saw a few years ago,” he shares.

Along with a fresh yet dynamic color palette, Lewis also sees the following interior trends for 2023:

  • Vintage and antique furnishings: Whether it’s a vintage brass light fixture or antique furniture, more than ever people are combining their new furniture with vintage.
  • Muted, minimalist cushions: People want to better integrate their pillows and home furnishings with their rest of their palette and style. The “pop of color” cushions on boring sofas will look dated.
  • Statement marble countertops and kitchen decor: Bold marble with lots of veining and movement is a popular way to accent a new kitchen.
  • Large butler style pantry: Hidden pantries and large butler pantries will be popular in larger homes as people still want the benefits of an open concept but a space to hide the chaos.
  • Create a bedroom oasis: Post-pandemic, the focus has been on finding sanctuary in a chaotic world, and the bed plays a big part in that.
